Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the most common questions about buying, selling and building bikes with Miclo Bikes.

Are your bikes and components new or used?

We sell a mixture of used and brand-new bikes, frames, components and accessories.

A large part of our stock is second-hand, including one-off, rare and vintage items. We also work with cycling brands and suppliers to offer a growing selection of new products.

The condition of each product will be clearly stated on its listing.

What does Miclo Bikes specialise in?

We specialise in track bikes, fixed gear bikes, track frames and components.

Track and fixed gear cycling are at the heart of Miclo Bikes, but we also regularly sell road bikes, gravel bikes, rare bikes, vintage bikes and cycling components.

Do you check used bikes and components?

Used products are individually assessed, photographed and described based on their condition.

As second-hand items have already been used, cosmetic marks and signs of wear may be present. We recommend checking all photographs and the product description carefully before purchasing.

If you have questions about a particular item, contact us before ordering.

Can you help me choose the correct bike size?

Yes. If you're unsure about sizing, send us your height, measurements where appropriate, riding style and the bike you're interested in, and we'll help where we can.

Sizing can vary between manufacturers and models, so recommendations should be treated as guidance rather than a guaranteed bike fit.

Can you help with component compatibility?

Yes. Compatibility can be particularly confusing when combining components from different brands, generations or standards.

Send us details of your bike, frame and current components, ideally with photographs where useful, and we'll try to help determine whether the part you're considering is suitable.

Do you offer custom bike builds?

Yes. We can discuss custom bike builds based around your budget, riding requirements and preferred style.

A frame is often a good place to start. From there, we can look at suitable wheels, cranksets, handlebars and other components.

A build can use new parts, used parts or a combination of both.

Is it worth building a bike with used components?

It can be an excellent way to get more for your budget.

Components such as cranksets, handlebars, stems, seatposts, saddles and wheelsets can often offer excellent value second-hand when they're in good condition.

For wear items such as chains, tyres and bottom brackets, we often recommend considering new or very lightly used parts, depending on their condition.

Can you order a new product that isn't on your website?

Possibly. We work with a growing range of cycling brands and suppliers and can often order specific products on request, subject to availability.

Contact us with the brand, model or component you're looking for and we'll check what may be available.

Do you buy bikes and cycling components?

Yes. We buy bikes, frames, wheelsets, components, job lots and collections.

Send us photographs, details of the items, your location and your asking price through our Sell Your Bike page.

Can I sell you several bikes or a complete collection?

Yes. We're happy to consider multiple bikes, collections, workshop stock, components and job lots.

Send us as much information and as many clear photographs as possible so we can understand what you have.

Can I collect my order in London?

Yes. London collection is available by arrangement.

Please contact us before visiting so we can arrange a suitable collection time and make sure your order is ready.

Do you deliver throughout the UK?

Yes. We can deliver bikes, frames, components and accessories throughout the UK.

Shipping costs depend on the size and type of item. Larger products such as complete bikes may require specialist packaging or delivery arrangements.

Do you ship internationally?

International shipping is available for many products.

Orders outside the UK may be subject to local import duties, taxes and customs charges, which are the responsibility of the buyer.

For international purchases, we recommend contacting us before ordering so we can discuss the available shipping options.

Can you collect a bike I've bought somewhere else?

In some cases, yes.

If you've found a bike through Facebook Marketplace, eBay, a private seller or another marketplace, we may be able to arrange UK collection for an additional cost.

Send us the item details, collection location and your delivery location and we'll see what can be arranged.

Do you offer a packing service?

Yes. In addition to bicycles and cycling equipment, we have experience packing fragile, valuable and unusually shaped items, including artwork.

We can provide a custom packing service for items that aren't bike-related. Send us photographs, dimensions and details of the item for a quote.

Can you help me find a particular bike or component?

Contact us if you're looking for something specific.

Our second-hand stock changes regularly, and through our supplier network we may also be able to source or order products that aren't currently listed on the website.

What is your returns policy?

For eligible online purchases, you can request a return within 14 days of receiving your order.

If you're returning an item because you've changed your mind, you will normally be responsible for the return cost.

Different rules apply if an item is faulty, damaged or not as described. Please see our Returns & Refunds page for full details.

How often do you add new stock?

Our stock changes regularly, particularly our used, rare and vintage bikes and components, as many products are one-off items.

If you see something you're interested in, availability can change quickly.
